Terms & Conditions
To keep everyone right and things fair, we have some terms and conditions to consider before applying for a Fife Business Award;
- The Fife Business Awards are free to enter.
- Your organisation does not have to be a member of Fife Chamber of Commerce to enter.
- A permanent office in Fife is not required to enter but applications will only be accepted from organisations with staff who are in Fife regularly to deliver projects or manage customers here.
- You do not have to be nominated for an award: you can nominate yourself.
- You can apply for more than one award.
- Award category sponsors are not permitted to enter the category that they are sponsoring but they can enter other categories and will be judged on the same basis as other applicants.
- Applicants must be authorised to enter their organisation for an Award.
- Entries are treated in confidence but will be shared with the judges.
- Incomplete entries will not be judged.
- Entries should be in English.
- Completed entries will only be accepted if submitted online.
- There is a two-stage application process, and you must complete both stages.
- The first stage is to register your intention to apply, which you must do by midnight on 27th October 2022. You cannot register after this date and any application form you subsequently submit will not be accepted.
- After you have registered you can complete and submit your online application form. You must submit it by midnight on 1st November 2022. Applications will not be accepted after this date.
- Registrations and submitted applications will be acknowledged on receipt.
- Entry forms will become the property of Fife Chamber of Commerce and will not be returned.
- Judging will be done in three parts.
- First, all applications will be independently scored by the judges and from these scores a short list of applicants will be selected.
- At least one of the judges will do a site visit to the shortlisted applicants to learn more about their business. The site visit will take place during the weeks commencing 16th, 23rd and 30th January.
- The shortlisted applicants will meet the full panel of judges to discuss their application in more detail. This meeting will take place during the weeks commencing 20th and 27th February 2022. It will be an in-person meeting unless that is not possible on medical grounds. .
- You must be available during the weeks notified for the site visit and the meeting with the judges. Your application will not be considered further if you are not able to comply with these dates.
- Every effort will be made to give you sufficient notice of the date/time of your site visit/meeting with the judges.
- The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The winner will be announced at the Award Ceremony on 19th May 2023.
- Winning entries will be publicised. If you are selected as a finalist you will be asked to provide your logo in a high-resolution format for promotional purposes. A brief description of your business may also be included in the Award Ceremony programme: the text for this will be uplifted from your application form and any sensitive information will be removed.
- When you attend the meeting with the judging panel, you will be asked to record a piece to camera saying what it would mean to win an Award. If you cannot attend the meeting in person, no video will be produced.
- Your video will be shared on social media and other FBA communications and will be featured at the Award Ceremony.
- Applicants are responsible for making appropriate arrangements to protect any intellectual property associated with their application. Winners may be requested to participate in post-event publicity.
- The organisers reserve the right to withdraw an Award from any applicant supplying false information within their entry. Judges reserve the right to audit any information supplied.
- By registering for the Fife Business Awards you agree to these terms and conditions.
- By submitting an application, you agree that your details can be shared with Fife Business Awards sponsors and immediate partners.
